So what the tightest schooling fish...something colorful...I was thinking about neon or cardinals, but was told that they are not a very tight schooling fish....any suggestions?

Only thing comes to mind are glass catfish, but they have no color, lol. Umm what about glo lights or rummy nose?

Rummy nose, can't go wrong.

I have had glow lights, they spread out just like neons/cardinals etc. Rummy nose always stay together, always. I have also heard that red eye tetra stay together, but not sure and have no experience with them.

I'd say Rummies as well. I have seen pretty tight schools of red eyes as well.

Rasboras are definitely up there as a tight schooler as well. My rasboras are never apart. I would say from reading here and experience, that rasboras and rummynoses are what you are looking for.

While I share the above experiences w/ DD, I have also noticed that my small Tiger Barbs seldom lose track of each other and are very quick to gather whenever anyone walks past their tank... strange thing is that they're in a species tank. Maybe the ramshorn snails freak them out?

I agree it has more to do with a threat in the tank, because my rummies don't school often.
