hello,
just wondering if any people on this sight have signed the petition to release neil young's 1973 time fades away on cd. if u haven't already it's on thrashers wheat.com
also for u serious fans can u explain to others the history of this album and why it should be released. on this thread?:)

well I don't listen to him all that much, but I think I'll start.. So far everything I've heard from the guy is so good.. He's a great guitar player; got a style of his own...

Don't know much about the album you're talking about though, but I'll check it out.

you would'nt understand his music if u r a modern day rap lover, he's a nice acoustic/electric guitar player who's been playing from the 70's till now. the TFA album has not been released on cd and the petition has over 10'000 sigs already. he's deppressed in it because his frend died of a drug over dose! the live tour was done after harvest.

he's a canadian rocker who first was with a band called the squires.then went to california to be with buffalo springfield...then took 3 member's from the rockets band and named them crazy horse. he played his 2nd album with them
then he played with the stray gators during havest. then one crazy horse member died of a drug over dose. he then went on the TFA tour all deppressed.
soon he began the ditch triliogy because his wife divorced him and another frend of his had died. after that he became good at playing the guitar and some more popular albums like zuma and rust never sleeps. his skills are amazing!in the eighties he signed with geffen records and experimented with different genera's like country, fifties rock, blues and even doing eighties techno music...
these albums were so bad that geffen records sued him. freedom had the amazing rockin' in the freeworld, the cd was his best in the eighties. in the beggining of the ninties he went on the RG tour and releaseed a hard rockin set called Weld. he soon became sensitive to loud sounds and then had to go to quieter music. politics inspired him alot in 2000-2006 to make a protest album.
i no i left alot out but this is the best summary i can come up with, now as u were saying lets discuss his great guitar playing!

Great summary . .

I just love that song "cinnamon girl"...

Gonna listen to some of his stuff today... you inspired me. :D

Why is it extremely hard for me to picture Niel young creating 80's techno music?? lol... It's just so wrong!
