please help me!! my tank is overan by majanos, ive just bought majanos destroyer online (UK), and 2 minutes after, read that it requires many water changes and can kill fish and other lifestock. Other option was to get some tongs out try detach them, i musta got 2 outta 30. i started calmly, then went into "how many peices can i chow u mother ******s up tp", and therefore tripling my amounts by tomorow probably..........so do i use this majano destroyer? i currently only have live rock and 2 clowns, few critters, should i remove them and keep em in a bucket whilst i zap the majanos, do like a 1/2 tank water change, then acclimatise them back in.....i have to do something!!!

Thanks grins. Are we talking the little brown ones that are about the size of dimes? (max)

If so I had a huge outbreak of them! All surfaces. Hundreds. They were a real pain. My mandarin had problems landing on them.

I tried the turkey baster method. I made siphon guns, pump/filter schemes, with suction tubes, etc., etc.

Finally someone suggested a type of fish. I can't remember what fish. I got one and he went thru them like a firestorm. He obliterated them. I can't remember what he was though.:duh: Some sort of Angelfish I think.

Ive seen a racoon butterfly eat majanos, but because they are not reef safe you should only try if this is a FOWLR tank. Ive also heard anecdotal reports of different pygmy angels munching on them, which wouldnt surprise me as many forage and nip at all kinds of things growing on live rock.

its on about 50% of my rock, the decision is to get 2 buckets of old water from water change, first bucket, do the shooting, quick dip in second bucket, then back in, the get rid of dirty bucket, refil, then use dipped bucket for next shoot em up, then fresh water for the dip, then so on...i ought that would be best, dont want to get a fish for the porpose of eating them, then having to get rid of them in future.....not very fair.

I would try injecting them with fresh tap water. dont treat the water and use an insulin syringe. the amount of clorine in the water will kill them quick, and have nexto no effect on ur clowns.
