Looks bare, but they'll fill in again....

Joe -
The fish are really looking nice. Makes me yearn for Discus again, but I just don't have the time for the needed up-keep.
I have a question. Why did you feel the need to thin the plants? To me they looked, in the before picture, like they were just starting to fill in nicely.
And what looks like Crypt. Retro-spiralis in the center, must have taken forever to develop.
I am really curious about this. Could you explain?

Len

I guess the pics don't show the whole situation.
It was getting really thick, and looked almost over-run with plant growth..

The spiral plants grew rather fast.

Thanks!

The substrate is SeaChem's Onyx Sand. It's not really "sand" but rather fine gravel.

I'm with Len on this one. Looked good b4, but if you say it was over-run, it was. It's your tank.

Do you just discard your plants Joe? Just curious. If you say yes, I'd like to know when your car breaks down cuz I know you'll just chuck that too! :D

I guess you want first shot at a Cutlass Ciera ... '86 era.... Cause, it may have to go soon.. ;)

If you are not using CO2 for your plants - try it! :D
