I wasn't sure where to post this, hope I got it right. I am looking for a timer for my tank. That way while I'm gone during the day, my fish can have some light on in their tank. Could someone tell me where they found theirs?

When you go to Wal-mart you'll have the choice to buy the cheapo timer that is simply a dial with a couple of sliding arrows on the face or the better model that has little tabs all around the dial that you depress.

I've had both and the difference is huge. The cheapo only allows you one on and one off per day.

The better model (really, only like $2-3 more) lets you depress those tabs to turn the lights on or off in 30 minute incremements. This leaves you the opportunity to turn the lights on in the morning before you go to work, then off when you leave, back on when you get home, and off when you go to bed.

Even if that's not a feature you want ( I don't use it for that) its still worth it. I've owned both units and the cheaper one died on me within months.
