Timing FX5's, UV's & satellites saves $80

8.3¢/KWH? That's cheap compared to what lots of people are already paying... Here's hoping they're reading this!


Actually, I'm at 6.68¢/KWH but we have a public utility where I'm at and most of our power comes from big hydro projects. The city bought into them a long time ago with tax money. It's going to go up though since BPA wants to charge a surcharge to everyone that uses their transmission lines in order to "support private competition". Somehow charging me more is going to keep rates down.

As for power usage, I should check that JEBO that I'm using. It would be interesting to see what the relative power usage of different types of filtration and lighting systems happens to be. There might be a big long-term cost differential that makes some of the more expensive filters and lights look a lot more affordable.
