tiny, clear, egg-filled jelly sack... pond snails?

my puffer loves to snack on them (and ramshorns), so i leave them in my tanks. when they begin to look unsightly, i throw in a slice of potato and the next morning i pull it out. it will be COVERED in snails. then i toss the snails

Potato eh? maybe I will try that. Are you blanching it?
I've had not the best luck w/squash and zucchini I only get maybe half a dozen at a time VS the 50 or so that is in my tank and not to mention all their eggs I am too lazy to hunt for and remove (way too heavily planted) I squish when I see them on the side of the glass as well as bait and removal and I don't even think that puts a dent in the population :mad2:

I find it hard to believe someone only has 1 or 2 pond snails in their tank. I have 50+ in my 28ga tank.

I had one for a week in my 30g. Then a few more the next week, when I intentionally put them in the bag with the plants I was buying. Sense I only got 1 the first time I bought plants.
I wanted them. So I was looking real hard for any signs of them.
