Can anyone tell me about these tiny freshwater puffer fishies??

that's a figure-8 puffer, which is a brackish water puffer. They can survive in the freshwater but their natural lifespan of 15 years is depleted greatly. The tiny puffers that are ok with freshwater are the Dwarf Puffers

so thats what they are? DP's?
how big are they?

DP is adorable! What kinds of fish is he housed with and is he a Figure 8 Puffer?

Figure 8's and Dwarves are completely different puffers with completely different needs. However, most/all puffers are fin nippers so they are better in a species specific tank but are known to be mixed with communities.

DP's and F8's are two totally different species. they should be in species only tanks as they are quite nippy and territorial as are most if not all puffers.

Oh, hahahaha! I thought that was the fishes name! LOL! LOL!

Figure 8's and Dwarf Puffers are two totally different fish, and require different living conditions. Both are species fish, and will kill any other fish you put with them. They are VERY aggressive. But, they ARE adorable! :) When kept together, DP's require at least 3 gallons each, minimum of 5 to start. Plus, they need lots of foliage so it breaks up their line of sight. If they see each other, they will fight. They don't eat flakes or pellets, but rather frozen bloodworms as well. Here are a few pics of my puffers:
