A gallon for a fry growout? It's ridiculously small and the fry will wind up stunted after a few weeks.

Soup, candy jar, coin collection or bonsai plants.

I also disagree about using this for fry. They need very stable water conditions and as Lupin pointed out, adequate volume and space in which to develop fully. Anything smaller than a 10 gallon, or so, would not work very well. A 5 gallon, possibly, but I'd still go with the 10.

I didnt really mean "growout" I guess

more like just a place to keep them so the adults dont eat them for the first week or so... its a hell of a lot bigger than one of those breeder boxes lol

I was also referring to something like guppy fry... not anything touchy or large

I know the best use

smashin practice with a ballpeen hammer and make a youtube vid doing it dressed as a betta as a avant gard expressionist piece to exemplify the rage of a betta in a 1 g
LMFAO!!!
you win, chef. hands down. *gives chef a cookie*

They're great for growing java moss. If you set it near a window, it looks pretty cool when the sun shines through the moss.

I had a few cherry shrimp in mine for a while. They did ok, but I had to remove the UFG that came with it because the shrimp kept getting underneath it.

Sorry, but need to disagree with these recommendations:

hospital tank/qurantine .... for what, snails? Too small.

desktop betta tank ... Correct betta care does not include microscopic tanks.

african dwarf frog or two ... Not even one; unstable water parameters and far too small for the bioload; true disaster in the making.
