Tips on getting bark off driftwood, please

I think soaking should do the trick, depending on the type of wood you may just be able to peel it off by hand. Either way, I don't think a stiff brush would do damage :)

I agree with Fractalis I would keep the bark on. I do not always remove the bark.

soak, dry, soak, dry... eventually the bark will start to slough off as the wood swells and shrinks. But yes, you don't have to remove it if the wood isn't rotting, and scratching it won't do any harm. I usually whittle the bark off if I need to.

I want to be THAT GUY, sitting in the car wash, hosing off a chunk of log.

I'm going to feel like a total noob, but hey, can't learn unless you ask. Why would the bark need to come off the Driftwood?

because it might come off later and get things gunky... Also, it traps moisture against the wood, so there might be rotten spots under it that could be cut out to prevent gunkiness. And, I think there are some types of bark that can be harmful, by changing things like PH, or leeching other natural chemicals.
