lol. y? do you consider it to be a burden. i think it would be cool to be a "V.I.P" on ac cuz everyone knows the mods. im a "captain" in our highschool band so im just kinda into that leadership like stuff.

Austin, your enthusiasm and willingness to help is understood and appreciated.:thumbsup: However it is up to the staff to decide who deserves the position. The staff decides who has the capabilities to be a moderator and this is only when we really need additional staff members. This includes activity level partake in the forum (not post counts), contributions to the site (not in monetary value), personality and ability to handle situations especially where your persona is involved. If you cannot act levelheaded and be impartial in situations, then your credibility and capability is put in question. Overall, it takes maturity to be part of the staff.
My own responsibilities involve helping people who are in need, moderating threads to correct sections, enforcing the Terms of Service and help with staff decisions that will influence the forum as a whole. No staff member is being forced to carry out the duties unlike most other forums. The members are invited to the staff team as they dedicate part of their time for the site. This is not all about power trips that some people allege. Moderating is not an easy job contrary to what most people think. It entails responsibility on your part.

It requires reasonable responsibility and great care must be taken in regards to attitude, conduct, etc. If anything, it is the opposite of a power trip--it has been a far more humbling experience for me being a mod than when I was a regular member. I hope that may clear up any wrong ideas or misgivings.

I was told, before i became a mod, that you needed a life time supply of super glue, popcorn, an affliction towards guppies, uber large mag-floats for trapping fish, the ability to be totally random and a spare RJ45 network point on your heel to connect to the AC main frame.....Are you folks telling me i was duped?
