To be SAE or not to be..

Looks like a true SAE to me, though I may be wrong. The line doesn't extend through the caudal fin but that is not a 100% ID method. The fins are also colorless unlike Flying foxes which are darker I believe. Supposedly the only distinct difference is that false SAE's have two sets of barbels while trues only have one...I would look at this site...I am soooo bad at this. :grinyes:

Actually I take that back, flying fox isn't right but I don't think its a SAE.

That's a true SAE. I've been dying to get one;they're rare here in PR. The false one has white on the tip of most of the fins, specially in the dorsal one plus they have some black on them too. SAE have colorless fins.
Its an SAE. Flying fox have deeper coloring and colored dorsal fins plus the sets of barbals on their mouths. I have both specimens currently, cause the LFS had them mislabled, SAE were labled fly fox and vice versa, and I dont have the heart to get rid of the flying fox.
I was thinking FF because 1) tail too clear, 2) dorsal surface darker in color and has more pronounced scale pattern than would be seen in a SAE (above) vs the FF's darker, more strongly patterned back (below).
I'm no expert...
