To be SAE or not to be..

No, not a flying fox. Like I said a few pages ago I think it's one of the very similar crossicheilus species or a regional variant of c. siamensis. Some of those fins are looking yellowish to me. My biggest "true" sae has a less pronounced lighter line above the black, he's at least 5 inches SL.

Could be Squawk.. but all the images on google of flying foxes does not match mine.. look at post #10.. nothing like mine..

Plus with mine the black line is zig zag like and not a solid one like with a regular flying fox, the line goes through the tail and i guess the gold like stripe thats above the black line seems to fade at times and isnt as yellow as with a regular flying fox.. And finally the mouth is different from that of a ff

Heres another site to compare http://www.wetwebmedia.com/plantedtkssubwebindex/saesags.htm

yee i actually came across that site as well. And there the non SAE species all have sucker like mouths (resembling the gara species) and those who dont have the sucker like mouths have the solid black bar.

Ill give him a few more months until he will most likely be fully grown and then will see how "aggressive" he will be with other tankmates.

Maybe will also post him on other boards see what others think..
