To get or not to get shrimps?

Hi. I have a 60 gallon tank with 2 gold gouramis, 6 Australian Rainbowfish, 6 neon tetra, 2 bristlenose and 2 sterbai cory. I definitely want to get 3 more sterbai soon (waiting for stock).

I was wondering whether there would be too many bottom feeders if I were to buy a pair of ghost shrimps too. What do you think I should do?

:help:

sure go ahead, they can sometimes reach places that the fish cant reach.

The nice part about shrimp is that they tend to put a very small bio-load on the tank itself.

As musho said, they can reach places other fish can't. Something like the asian filter shrimp will feed from the water (filters particles out) and from the bottom.

LOL a pair.

get about 20 ghost shrimp. they are great bottom feeders and you'll be fine.

I have a pair and I need a few pair more.

Q

It's cool to watch how far down they reach through the gravel when they're next to the glass.

get maybe 5 to start off with, if they are getting enough to eat, keep adding more. You can see their stomachs so you should be able to tell if they have eaten enough.
