I have a 29 or 30 gallon tank and in it there are 2 african, and 19 convicts with a sucker fish (dont know how to spell the real name lol) is this to many fish for one tank ...they are all brother and sister or cousins....

Short answer yes, way too many fish. 1 breeding pair of convicts is sort of maxed out for a 29 gallon with a few other fish like the pleco (I assume that is what the sucker fish is). Are the 19 convicts tiny babies that are going to be moved or is this their permanent home?

If I were you I would start finding a home for them right away as this tank will go south very fast.

I got these fish from a friend who has a 60 gallon tank and her fish breed like crazy all of these fish are various sizes i have some that are almost a half inch others that are a inch and then some that are 2inchs and one that is almost 4 inches but they all come frome one dad

It doesn't matter who there dad is, once they reach breeding size they will probably start to kill each other off. And other than that there is no way the tank can hold them all and it will become polluted, the fish will have their growth stunted and they will die. A good convict can last 10 years or more, I doubt your will last more than 1, if that.

well my friend has had hers for over 2 years and her fish are fine and she has about 25 in her tank is a 55 and they are all fine so i think that each fish is different because mine have been fine so far and i have had them for 3 weeks and nothing wrong so far

let me try and say this as nicely as I can.... why ask for help if you aren't going to listen to it?

I'm sure they are ALL not fine. so is it a 55 or a 60 gallon tank? Over crowding will lead to stunting and a shortened life span. How old is the oldest? will 25 6"+ live in that tank...not a chance.....its just cruel to put fish through that.

i was just asking sorry didnt mean to start your day off on the wrong fin
Awwwwww, now thats cute! :)
Seriously though, check up on a species profile on the convict and se the rule. Also, just because your friends fish aren't killing each other doesn't make the tank a healthy environment. Please, you took the time to further your knowledge on the species and now's your opportunity to learn all you can. Trust me, you'll appreciate it as the responsible owner you are, and your fish'll give you the experience of a lifetime!!!
Good Luck..
Happy holidays to all....
