Thanks Jawa, but I can't take the battery out. I thought of that but didn't know to hold the power button. I'll remember that one.

I have no clue what happened but I think it decided to work now. I just went upstairs after walking away for 2 1/2 hours and now it's fine. Battery was dead, dead so it took awhile to boot up but other than that, seems all is well.

Check to see if it will start up in safe mode. Its likely a problem of losing power while sleeping/hibernating. If it starts in safe mode, shut it down properly and give it a go in normal startup mode.
