I know hes just an actor, and hes not really getting to me on any deep level or anything, its just funny! I do think hes a good actor ;)
Here's a way of looking at what he's doing...

He's really "testing the waters" to see where he will fit in best when he's old and wrinkly - and starts doing Info Commercials!

Or, will he be the Jimmy Swaggert of Scientology?? :D

Ya know, I wonder if his opinion also applies to the use of birth control? Just wait til he tells Katie Holmes they have to practice natural birth control! :dance2: Don't worry hon, pregnancy doesn't change your body at all - really! And giving birth doesn't hurt either - no drugs needed. He'll be screaming for drugs too when she strangles him while trying to "pop one out".

hormone stimulation for problems concieving

I thought that Brooke Sheilds took massive hormones in order to concieve as she was having difficulties and was undergoing medical treatments (correct me if I'm wrong, I really don't follow these things).

That would make the normal hormone swings after pregnancy that much worse.

I'm not sure any man can really understand what is going on. As my OB told me, if a man was subjected to a surge in testasterone equivalent to the estrogen surge a woman gets when pregnant, he'd drop dead. The OB thought it was amazing that woman withstood the chemical swings without permanent damage.

No, her hormones during pregnancy would be the same as any other woman's, the way her brain reacts to those hormones could be very different. It is very common to have "baby blues" after birth. How each woman reacts (and how her body handles the hormones) to it is very different from person to person. It's a very complicated thing. We don't know how much environmental affects it. Our culture makes it very difficult for new mothers. Many/most women lack the close support of family, friends and community needed to help raise a new baby and keep herself healthy physically and mentally (it takes a village to raise a child!) And there is a prevaling attitude that a woman has to "be herself" as soon as a baby is born, when, in actuality, it takes about 1 year to fully heal after pregnancy. Raising a child is an enormous task to do on one's own, and that in itself can contribute to postpartum depression and psychosis.

The worst thing about Tom Cruise lately is his demeanor. He has no idea how to have a discussion with someone ... did you see how condescending he was to Matt Lauer in that interview? So disrespectful. Calling him glim and ignorant? How awful for his public image.

Nursie, you're right. I briefly forgot (while living on my own planet) that most likely they aren't waiting. Of course in my little world everyone is also married to only one person for their whole life. I know, it's a dream world, forgive my stupidity.

You aren't stupid...yours are the values that we should really be aspiring to, instead of imitating these idiotic movie stars!!
