Tom Flow Meter anyone use this?

That type of flow meter can be very accurate if it is mounted so the indicator part is vertical. Because it is very dependent on the area around the outside of the displacer, it must be clean to give an accurate reading. Be sure you read the instructions carefully because where you read them varies depending on the manufacturer. I have never owned one at home but they are very common in industrial settings for measuring water flow because they don't get out of calibration and the only maintenance they ever need is cleaning.

I bought one at petsmart for $3, and it works pretty good. I originally got it cause I was going to run an inline UV sterilizer with the output of a larger canister filter. But I decided against the sterilizer, but the meter is very easy to clean, takes no more than a coupe of minutes to open it up and clean it.

for 3 dollars, thats an awesome deal. I might even pick one up now.
