Does anyone have any experience with this canister filter? I just ordered one from Big Al's to use on my 10g tank, or possibly even just as an extra filter for my 40g tank.

I haven't been able to get many reviews for the thing.

its pretty good for a 10g tank but thats about it.. the gph filtration is a bit on a low side (believe 80-90gph) Can get more filtration with an AC filter.. But non the less its a good canister filter for small tanks that are understocked/planted

That's exactly what the tank I'd plan on using it for is. Pretty heavily planted 10g tank with lots of shrimp and a dwarf puffer.

Exactly what I was looking for BoredAgain!

I went with the ZooMed501. Havent got it on yet but soon

I use a Tom Rapids on my 10g and have no problems with it. Like already stated, it is not very strong. You could not mount it under a cabinet as it won't push the water that high. (I tried). It is quiet, has not leaked and with a few simple modifications to filter media (throw out the carbon imbedded sleeve) it filters very well for the price.

I should be getting it in the mail today. We will see if I like it or not. I didn't really need an extra filter for this tank, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. I didn't even think to check the gph versus other filters.

Also, I notice you threw out the carbon media. What did you replace it with? Filter floss I'm guessing?
