Is it enough to help stand alone for a 55 gallon with good fluorescent lights, minimal low-light plants grow simultaneously using the Hagen co2 system?? I just bought one .
I had great results with it on a 20 gallon tan, but on a 29 it did not do much. A more efficient defuser would probably make a big difference. The bubble of CO2 goes up the ladder and does not get any smaller then floats to the surface. So if you used a powered type defuser if would work well on a larger tank. The yeast mix lasted between 3 and 4 weeks.
I agree also that the Hagen is a great system for people who don't want a DIY system, or like me didn't want to run around looking for all the parts. I also think it looks nicer then a bunch of 2lt bottles setting next to the tank.
I used 2 on my 29g and saw that once the plants started to fill in, the bubbles would dissolve before reaching the top. Also check to make sure the expiration date on the packets is still good, after the packets they give you go, buy the raw materials and make your own mixture.
Heh, maybe one more co2 system will do? lol spend another 35 dollars. Geez honestly, I be spendin too much for fish these days. I need to relax with the buy fishie-fishie stuff..but these are for plants, for once.
