Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH aeration in a tank? I LOVE the look of columns of bubbles coming up from the substrate and as such i tent to have a lot. Is their anything this can hurt?
I wouldn't think so. Just how much aeration are you talking about doing here? The water can only hold so much disolved oxygen at the temperatures you keep tropical fish, so I'm guessing that after a certain point there is no difference no matter how much you put in.
i don't know about the discus so I can't comment there. If you were planning to plant this tank, which by your stocking I am assuming not, then yes it could hurt but I don't think it will matter much.
