Too many Malaysian Trumpet Snails...what to do???

Pull them out and squish them.
^ This. Just don't squish by hand.

Don't worry about whether to add a fish or not to take care of them. You won't find one that'll live in that size tank. Even a lot of puffers have trouble with Trumpet Snails. They are some of the toughest snails to crack.

Take a bunch out, put them in a container, smashy smashy....fish food.

Also, snail population explosions arn't always from overfeeding. It is often the most common reason and so the first thing to try to fix, but they are scavengers so it isn't the only reason. Excess algae growth as well as rapid plant growth (it isn't the plant growth itself but the unnoticed die-off that can come with it) can also cause a population boom.

Pull them out and squish them.

thats a nice thought, very evil;)

well, if you want some money sell them by the hundreds on AC for $5 for 100 + $5 shipping:) you will make money and solve problem or if u aren't in the mood for collecting and selling, try getting assassin snails or some type of loach:)(not a clown loach)

Get a common pleco.

Ok, to answer some questions.

I do weekly maintenance on the tank, which consists of me getting a bucket of tank water and squeezing the filter sponges/ceramic beads into the water (changing out the water if it gets too murky). I use this water for my house plants (which makes them grow like CRAZY). Once the filter components are cleaned out, I end up doing roughly 50-60% water change with a python. I have a pool filter sand for substrate so not too much goes below the surface, and with the RCS having babies, I've gotten away from getting really deep into the substrate to clean since the baby shrimp are so dang curious about the python.

I have had one plant (wisteria I think) that has been growing like crazy so maybe some of the die off from that could be a source of the problem, like Khemul stated.

I only see the majority of the MTS out at night, so maybe it's not a huge crazy problem...I just know I started with 5 of them and now I have easily over 100.

I don't plan on buying a puffer or definitely not a common pleco to take care of this problem...it seems like the best thing to do will be reduce feeding and if the snails get out of control, I'll use them for fish food...maybe I'll sell them if I have the spare time.

I'm thinking of feeding 1 pinch of fish food one day, then 1 algae wafer the next day, and so on...does that seem like it will be enough for everyone?
