I wound up putting 5 bio balls in a gravel vac pipe & put the outlet in it as a sort of x-large downtube. It seems to be slowing the flow down nicely but was considering that vaccuum cleaner type flex hose .I think it i s resistant , u know the sump style hose thats larger diameter about an anch or 1 1/2.Thanks for nudging me to diy ,I was realy stressing about it looseing a frog & a shrimp .replced with 4 shrimp & 2 yoyos & a Burmease loach .wont replace the dwarf aquatic frog though .your all right whoever said frogs are better in smaller tanks !

theres always calm spots but when you get a fan shrimp thats compelled to current ,its tricky. In the downtube with the bioballs in it theres a bunch of fan shrimps today lol, they dont learn but I think the bio balls are difusig the current enough now or seems so.they can crawl in the bottom or top of it too.
