Too much light?

I have a 20 gallon tank with low and medium light level plants. I'm about to have 55Watts of full spectrum light over my tank. My question is: Will having more light negatively affect my low light level plants?

no, but it will positively affect your algae levels.

It shouldn't. Anubias may develop some spot algae on the older leaves, good idea to keep them shaded.

have 55w over a 20 gal also. havent had problem with algae. keep it heavily stocked with plants.
