We recently just moved our oscar into a 40 gallon tank. We have it on the othe side of the room near a window from where he was before. Hes not acting any different, but isnt black when the sun is shinning. I noticed this morning before the sun came out, hes black. But then he looks almost like an albino instead of a tiger. Could it be the sun or what?

40 gal is way to small for an Oscar......

Most fish turn pale overnight as they rest. Then slowly gain color back as sunlight intensifies or once you turn on your lights. I agree with the smallness of the tank you need a 75 gallon for your oscar to reach full size and prosper.

Perhaps he's just camoflaging like a camelion. lol
The sun bouncing of his scales will obviously give the illusion of the color of the light pouring in the window.
Agreed. Get the guy a swimming pool.

If it's a 40g breeder you should be ok for a short time...they explode (literally) in size after getting put into a larger tank. The sun is most likely your culprit btw.

Probably nothing other than mood swings but keep in mind that Depending on the location, intensity and duration, even fish can get sunburn or irritated if entire tank is exposed.
