Too much turnover?

Hi all.

Quick question, is it possible to have a too powerful powerhead in a tank. I felt that my turnover wasn't enough so I just put a 900L/H powerhead in my 215 litre tank. Is this too much? My clowns seem to love it but there seems to be a lot of water agitation and debris blowing off the live rock.

You would need an absolutely MASSIVE amount of flow to have too much flow. I doubt what you have is too much.

that isnt too much at all. i have about a 42X turnover rate and am looking to get more

Hi,

Got 550 litre with a turnover of 20,000 per hour, Started with that amount and never had a major problem, but I do have one tunze pointing down and to back.

I dont use a wavemaker and just go with the flow, I found a few rocks in the right spots slows down the nasty currents.
