Hey everyone. I have a 50 gallon corner tank that I am cycling as we speak. My original set is about 60 lbs of live rock, a 5" DSB, one Seio M620 powerhead and a skimmer.

I loved the results so much of the one powerhead that I decided to get another one today. I hooked it up and while the water seams fine I'm just a little worried that it's creating too much current for the tank.

I'm lucky enough where I already have some feather brushers sprouting out of the liverock (I can't believe it after being set up for only a couple of days) and they seem to be enjoying the current.

I guess I'm just worried being a corner tank and not being as long obviously, will this bother the future fish that will be in the tank someday?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

The key is to insure that you don't have any dead spots. I use several, smaller pumps in my small 20g reef tank. I make sure that the rock is open enough to allow water to flow through and that the back is getting circulation as well. As you add live stock, you may need to adjust the direction and flow a bit, to make sure everything is opening up as it should.

The Seio M620 pumps out 620 gallons per hour, so I am getting a pretty good turn out. Everything in the tank so far seems to be moving so I think I'm good. I was just worried that sometimes you can have "too much "current.

No such thing. Might be for a certin creature but in general now adays you want 30-60x turnover if you have a reef. (figure taken from Anthony Calfo)
