Have tried several replacement bulbs, still come out with a yellowish tint.
What brands produce what color lighting.
We are talking about a T8 fluorescent bulb.
One bulb I have is now Aqua Glo, seems ok, trying to find a companion bulb.
Don't like the yellowish tint.

Look for the color temperature on the bulb; this is expressed in Kelvins (K). Bulbs with a color temp below 5000 K will look yellow; those above 10,000 K will look blue. There is not a direct correlation between color temp and amount of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) available to your plants, but as a rule of thumb bulbs between 6500 and 10,000 K will be best for your plants and provide a pleasing color. A lot of aquarists will use one 6700 K bulb and one 10,000 K bulb for a nice crisp look.

Many bulbs in this range are labeled 'Daylight' or 'Full Spectrum', but not all bulbs with these labels are in this color temp range. For example, the commonly available Sylvania 'Daylight' bulbs are a low-temp, yellowish bulb.

Thanks, one of the 2 bulbs I have now is Eclips Natural Light in T8 don't know if it is 6500k or under, but it is much too yellow, but bright.
