For Fowlr ...there is some leeway vs coral... But im stern in my responses to many reefers to just say no to Tap.
HEre is something to keep in mind about it: http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/dirosetup/a/aa011003.htm
It is why I say Tap water is gambling ... and losing a prized piece of coral that cost you a lot of money.. Acans anyone? will certainly make one say no to TAP ...
Sure there are people with great sources of tap water...that I won't argue.
Tap water is a great way to play Russian Roulette with your tanks chemistry. I for one learned the very hard way with Tap water in the beginning of this hobby way back when I didn't research squat.
Ro units can be found also at Home Depot, Lowes, and or other major home fixer uper stores.
That 160 dollar unit at home depot can save you money in top water top off...premix ... and give you peace of mind about what you put in your tank.
Worst case scenario you can have hair algae break outs..cyano all over...dead corals... and in the end that bill will be greater than the purchase price of a RO unit.
