Total newbie dorm room tank?

whoops. didnt even see that. i'm tired. i need to check dates more often.... oh well.

ok heres the deal im not in college...yet... but for my birthday i just got a new 36 gallon, lets just say its not for you at this most important time of your life *winkwink*. i also got a small 10 gallon tank from petsmart for $9.99(it was on sale) but it came with an airpump, and a top. i had to get the light which was about $15, and the filter about $10. i also got a packet of those start right things so i only had it sit for about a week and i put in some black convicts because they were so nice and mini in the tan kat the store, 3 weeks later and their like 3"-4" long and 2" tall and needed more room. i placed them in my new 36 gallon which i started the same way but let sit for 1 month when i added the cons due to curculation. now im looking into a betta and some neon tetras and a few cory cats corys get about 3" and the bettas get not much bigger, the tetras get 1.5" if ur lucky. not my computer f*** sucks so i cant check out ur pics so ima guess their some cheep walmart brand which for you cheaper is better depending on your finatial stability. now your prolly think that your not going to take advice from a "minor" but i spent the last 2 summers in a dorm for some boarding school test camp thing..and ill tell you it would have been bad if not for my room mates 12 gallon tank. and im just fallowing what he says, because his dad works for an aquarium(but im pritty sure thats total bulls***) sorry i babbled so long hope this helps
