Total Plant Newb Question

soo. i have a 5 gallon hex that id like to turn into a plant aqurium. Now i want to make java moss a big part of it, im a total newb with plants, what plants will java moss thrive with? what temprature should i set the tank to? im looking to get a hand full of ghost shrimp with the plants will the shrimp be ok?. would a small filter hurt the plants? and lastly, what kind of lights would i need, and would i need c02 injections?

I would try to stick to small plants. Your best bet would be Anubias nana or Anubias nana v. petite.

Plants and shrimp no problem. Plants and filter no problem. You might be able to find a desk lamp or something like that for it. Compact fluorescents (twisty light bulbs) or normal fluorescents (long thin bulbs) will both work. CO2 injection isn't needed but does help. If you stick with easy plants you won't need it.
 
With only 5 gallons, I would run less than 2 watts per gallon and leave out the CO2. You can use Seachem Flourish Excel for carbon as long as you dose consistantly. I agree go with the smaller plants though Java Fern and Java Moss are doable.
