Total tear down and rebuild: 37g

The black neons are hard to find around here now. Way back 30 years ago when I first started in the hobby, they were very popular. Come to think of it zebra danios are hard to find now too, they would make a nice school, if you can find them.

So true. You have a better chance at contracting polio than finding black neons or cardinal tetras in my area.

Liking this so far, love all those broad leaves. Can I recommend a solid black background tho, contrasts with plants so nicely. Black neons, angels and cories sounds prefect! I love black neons and feel that they get passed up for regular neons or cardinals too often.

Don't forget more pictures. ;)

I found 9 in a petsmart and for a $1 so I bought what they had left. I also ended up with a koi angel which I know I should of waited to add and 4 albino male cherry barbs...

I did a water test and the results: Ph: 7.6 Ammonia: .25ppm Nitrite: 0PPM and Nitrate is at 10ppm. Working a W/C as I post this.

I did buy plants that came from tanks and also there was some water left in the tank, but not a lot and some sand I couldn't get out.
