totally loosing patience with gourami

I wanted to buy a couple blue gourami, but was advised either to take just one, or 6. In the case of 6 males, the aggression is spread out enough that no one suffers unduly, I was advised. I didn't have room for 6 so I chose 2 pearl, one male and female. Its an odd relationship. Sometimes he chases her, but dosen't hurt her, sometimes they hang together. He likes one side of the tank, and she the other. There were no female blue gourami or I would have taken a couple, because they aren't as pretty and don't sell as well. Its hard to be a woman.

I'd take 2 males back and ask for a couple females if they have them.

My male was constantly building bubble nests, but sems to have stopped this behavior. The water changes keep destroying his work and I guess he's given up.

I had the exact same problem so I pulled all my fish out into buckets and changed everything around in the tank. They've gotten along much better since.

Well, I picked up another tank, a 36gal bowfront. Have I satisfied my MTS for a while? :D Anyway, I put the dominant gourami in the bowfront so the remaining 2 can swim around in my 90.

I'll post in a few days to tell you what's up with them.

Thanks for the suggestions/help!
