I teared up on that one for sure. And I think I watched more of the puppybowl than the real game. How bout that little black labradorable puppy with the blue collar, just minding his own business, chewing away.........cuteness at its best.

Same here. At first, I didn't think Roethlisberger made it in but on the replay it's clear he barely broke the "plane" with the tip of the ball so technically it was a touchdown.

I think the refs made a good decision to stand by the call after the review.

Peace...

The refereeing was horrible throughout the playoffs. (yeah I'm a Pats fan and WE WAS ROBBED). When the officiating becomes more of a story than the game, it is time to repair the method by which calls are made.

Get the zebras off the field. They get in the way too much (the umpire in the Pats Broncs game may as well have tackled Deion Branch for the attempt he made to get out of the way of the play).

Have all calls made by off field officials. If I can see it on my TV, they can see it in real time on camera. Maybe then all of the holding that goes uncalled will be as obvious to the refs as it is to me watching at home (and EVERYONE does it, Pats included).

If any official makes bad calls in-season (by peer review) keep them off of the playoff officiating squads. Make refs full time employees.

I for one am sick of watching games determined by poor calls. It's frustrating.

I'm sorry, that was poorly worded. I forgot the comma too. I meant that the touchdown, of which this thread is discussing, did not appear to be a touchdown.

Sorry.

;)

Tsk, Lila... and you a writer too.... :D I know, it was the effects of the Superbowl party, huh? :soda: :coffee2:

BTW all, I only wanted to make this a short one, so I set the poll to last only 3 days. Thanks for the input!

[Edit:] oops. I just noticed for the first time that a drop dead date is noted at the top by the poll results. "This poll will close on 02-08-2006 at 08:28 PM". I know, what a dweeb. :p:

Wooh, man. There was bad officiating in the Pats game, worse than in the Superbowl IMHO because the calls were wrong, but the Pats beat themselves. Refs don't cause 5 turnovers. I'm a Pats fan too but come on, they played like crap on offense.

At least the calls in the Superbowl were tight or plays that should have been "non-calls".

Yeah, but alot of those poor calls robbed the Pats of momentum, the same way bad calls robbed the Seahawks of momentum.

Who knows what the outcome would have been without phantom pass interference, fumbles through the end zone called touchdowns and fat umps standing in the way of our plays.

I especially love it when Brady passes the ball and the dumba$$ ump isn't watching and takes it off the head. If I was QB I'd start gunning for them intentionally for screwing up the game. (hmmm. makes you wonder if he did...)
