Transhipper in California?

The only time I've heard of them used is when somebody is shipping things domestically for an International person/agency.
Ie: Somebody from thailand ships all his fish to a transhipper in the US, who takes it and ships it to it's specific destination.
Makes the whole customs thing easier to deal with.
