I have a very sick pygmy cory. It's very hot outside. I think I'm going to have to transport him to a veterinarian (yes... I actually will if I can find one that will treat fish) or at least to a fish store. He may have to be in a travel container/tank for a few hours. How do I keep his water aerated and cool enough? I don't have a battery powered air pump right now.

I'm really trying to not stress him out as much as I can, so any tips on transporting him would be appreciated.

I'd say put him in a largeish container and keep it as dark as possible. A larger water volume would pick up heat more slowly, and less light will help to keep him calmer. There are sedatives you can get, but I don't know if you need to go that far. He should be ok like that for a couple hours travel time...

I think the only igloo one I have leaks. But I'll try to pick one up. That's a really good idea. Like a Styrofoam one, right?

Okay, I have a pygmy cory that is lying on it's side or upside down. I got an email consultation from fishpharmacy.com and they said that it must be swim bladder disease and recommended Erythromycin for two weeks. I did that and I also used Minocyclin. The fish is still lying on it's side or upside down and has started whirling in a circle in the last few days. The guy recommends Prazi-Pro now because he says that it must be gill flukes.

I don't know what to do. I can get Prazi-Pro but I'm not sure that it is gill flukes. I don't see any and I have no idea where he would have picked it up and none of the other fish are displaying these symptoms. He is in a hospital tank. Nothing is stressing him out.

These problems aren't due to bad water quality because I keep the water clean, filtrated, aerated, and warm and also not due to improper feeding because I pre-soak dry foods, I offer defrosted foods including daphnia and brine shrimp, and I fast my fish one day a week.

All of a sudden I'm getting a lot of feedback about this fish but all different kinds of advice. So far I've tried the Erythromycin, Minocyclin, Nitrofuracin, Copper Sulphate, and aquarium salt but there's been no real improvements.

I"m sorry, capt... it always sucks to see a little fishy in distress. I don't know much about illnesses, so I'm afraid all I can do is offer moral suport. Mel_20_20 seems to know quite a bit about this sort of stuff, you may think about sending her a pm... hope he pulls through.
