Trapping Red Claw Shrimp

Does anyone have any ideas on trapping red claw shrimp? I tried using a Gatorade bottle cut 3/4 the way up, the top flipped upside down, and a hole cut in the cap with an algae tablet in there, and tried with a cucumber, but nothing went in that I could see. I all veggies and dissolved algae tablet looked all there.
 
maybe a bigger bottle? which size bottle did u use?
 
maybe put another bottle inside it with more food so it feels secure and stays?

its ok lol. It's a 32 oz bottle and stays together pretty well I was thinking about using 1 or 2 dots of super glue to hold it together a little. it just seems like they aren't interested in that bottle or food at all
 
If you're referring to catching shrimp in your tank, why not use a normal aquarium net? I've kept Red Claw shrimp for over 10 years now, nets have always worked for me. I use a six inch wide net for adults. I have also used my hands to catch adults.

As for capturing wild shrimp, I would use a wide, rectangular net, finely woven, on a six foot pole. You'll need to spot the shrimp first.
 
there's only 2 in the tank that don't come out of hiding very much unless its dark, they got in there when i moves some moss over from another tank, and I've got Texas holey rock in there...
 
Prawn like to feed mostly at night. Don't feed the tank (if possible) for a day or two. Then, put a cichlid pellet or something of that sort in your bottle trap. Set it up right before you turn the lights off. They get very aggressive when they are hungry so yours probably won't be as crafty or choosy about not going into the trap.
