TREATING HYDRA???

The tank I have the problems with is an overflow sump filter. (pump, bio balls and filter pad in 6 inch section).
I might exchange a bio sponge from the electric yellow tank, that one is loaded!
This tank has a deep sand bed, but im sure ive destroyed that now.
So yeah i will do that!
I've never seen geo liquid in any of my local stores.
I've been using pond bio booster and seachem stability.
Good to see another aussie!
Where do you have the most luck with buying fish from?
I'll be looking for another 6 ft tank soon, if you happen to see one.
Thanks for your comments. I got into a panicked state with my tank and cos the lfs chucks tri sulfa in at the first sign of anything, i thought yeah me too.
He sells white spotted rams though :(
A waste of my money!!!!!! lost another one today. never again. love those blue/gold rams but its like throwing fish down the toilet!

rather than a waste of money look at it as a waste of a life.
i love them too but cant keep them i can keep discus but not rams go figure i get my fish from vebas in perth there great but you do have to be careful what you pick up only because they are so busy but they have some awsome breeds i use tri sulfa myself but im very careful when adding it. geo liquid is in a red bottle looks more like a medication or somthing you would'nt exspect it to be a water conditioner but very popular with those who do use it and know whats in it. i put my fav dead fish in a pot and plant my fav plants when they start to bloom i feel a little better the ones i cant part with i keep in the freezer cause i just cant part with them. and i panic at any sign of not right with my tanks so i know how that feels. i can understand worms and neons because its really hard to tell but to sell white spot rams is not cool white spots easily seen. have you had a look on gumtree perth for a 6ft tank they have some real bargins sometimes other wise the quokkas a good one as well.

Yeah dont worry I've done plenty of grieving lately, way to much, lost some REAL FAVOURITES! Considered giving up, for the lives that are in my care and lost.
I say waste of money now due to anger concerning the stores who sell such weak stock. The suppliers due to their greediness, and the lack of ethics made very apparent by treating fish with such carelessness.
I blamed myself...now I know better! (Making me broke in the process!)
So yeah guilt just for buying them! If they die at the store thats sad, but at least its not giving me such depression than if i buy them and put them in my tank! :(

I'm getting over it, and not buying any more fish!
Except from local breeders.
(put your hands up anyone :)

glad to hear your making some positive steps mate :) it sucks that the lfs in your area are not much good, local breeders are fine for cheap, quality fish, but a good lfs is hard to beat.

i work at one which is in the perth metro area. so i see alot of fish come and go. there seems to be some problem with alot of 'tropical' fish... such as rams, angels, gouramis and tetras. they just die so much. its rediculous. and its not *us* that is the problem... our discus and tanganyikan cichlids are totally fine, and they are supposed to be 'sensitive' types of fish. i think the tropicals must be so inbred/mass produced that they are succeptible to all kinds of disease.

well anyway, enough ranting i think, nice to see more west aussies on here :)

hmm had a few drink when i wrote that, it seemed like a rant at the time but in retrospect it was kinda short lol
