Treatment of Ich with Salt and Neon Tetras

That link is no longer a thread on this site....

Whoa! ..and an antique of a thread at that!

Veoris, you can try heat and salt, but people forget the fact that neons are a fairly cold-water fish @ ~68-74F. The healthy enough ones should survive the heat/salt cycle.

When I brought ich into my tank with a batch of 15 petco neons, I used API's Super Ich Cure. It worked for me.

We have high TDS in our well. A KCl water treatment is on our system. My question: can this contribute to the recurrent ick infection? And will the additional NaCl treatment help or hurt the situation? We have mollies and tetras. We have tried the chemical treatments for ick, and it killed everything.

Gentry, I don't believe high TDS or your water treatment system will have anything to do with the ich parasite. Lots of big water changes with gravel vacs, aerate the water and run the water temp up as high as your fish will tolerate to speed the life cycle of the parasite along. Like said, salt can be added as well.
