Trick to getting mealworms to sink?

I feed my ropefish mealworms, but 75% of the time, the mealies "float" and my tiger barbs usually grab them from there. Was wondering if there was a trick on getting them to sink, or if I should try a different type of food for my ropefish. He really seems to love the mealworms though. About as soon as they hit the water, he's out and about looking for them. Really cool to watch my ropefish "hunt" his food. he'll actually circle the area until he finds the worm. And when he finds it, he tears them up lol. It started with me feeding only when the lights were off for about an hour, but he's become less and less shy, and will now roam when the lights are on, and activly eat with the lights on. Any advice? Or any other sinking type foods you would recommend?

you can try using a tweezer and "hand feeding" him or bring the mealworm close enough to the bottom and near him that he will go after it. are they alive or freeze dried mealworms?

Cool.. didnt know they would take mealworms! Im gonna have to try that with my ropefish when I get home. I always have some mealies around for my leopard geckos. If they're alive have you tried putting them at the bottom of the tank and letting them grab on to the substrate? Just a thought

They are live mealworms. And with the tank being a 55 gal, I wasn't really wanting to stick my whole arm in the water to do it. Grabbed some bloodworms today and tried those and he went straight for them... funny though, since I tried those when I got him, and he didn't touch them. Maybe he was still getting used to his new environment. Anyways, think I'll do the bloodworms over the mealies since all of the fish seem to love them, maybe a few mealies here and there as a snack.
