Trick to making Python siphon?

make sure there is nothing trapped in the Python blocking the flow. when mine jams up it is either inside of the valve/connector between the main hose and gravel vac part, or inside of the part that is attached to the sink. both places are not easily visible.

Or a loose connection, which makes it lose the vacuum.

These are all really great suggestions...It's just one of those things - instead of "ok! now to do a water change!" it's "oh great, another freaking water change. There goes my day..."
