i have a 40 gal bowfront. i am changing to reef from triggers. i have 45 lbs LR. i run a canister, a deltec skimmer & a UV. i was thinking of getting rid of the cannister & getting a trickle filter w/ a sump. but i herd i should just run a refugium w/ LR & skimmer. what would be best for reef? the real problem is, i only have room for one or the other under my tank. my skimmer is a MCE600 hang on the back, so that can stay where it is. but i cant decide if i should get a trickle filter or refugium. any advice is welcome.

:) THANKS :)

I havev heard a trickle filter may increase Nitrates with food and waste getting stuck in it, however a refugium gives yiou an opportunity to add macro algaes and reduce nitrates
