Hello all, This board is great. My question is does using a trickle filter while injecting Co2 release all the co2. Is it possible to use both and get the effects needed by both

if by trickle filter you mean HOB (hang on back power filter), then yes it is possible. I have a Whisper 20 on my 10 gallon on full flow and still maintain a 20 ppm co2 level using the Hagen co2 system. As long as you keep the water level high to lower surface agitation from the filter then you can use one of these filters.

I,m talking about a wet dry filter with a 10 gal. sump and using compressed Co2

Ben,
I would try posting this in the Plant Forum, there you will get more the help you need.

I keep plant tanks but do not use trickle filters. I would assume because of the way it is set up, you would lose CO2. But again, i do not keep TF and can not 100% help you here.

I use Wet/Dry filters (three of them), aka W/D, aka trickle filters on planted tanks without problems. The "dry" tower is not the problem if it is commercial and covered, or DIY and wll done, including cover. If there is a problem, it is likely to be in the overflow from the tank. If that does blow off CO2 from excessive waterfall effect, sometimes this can be corrected by addition of a simple non-airtight covering.
