Hi. I wonder if someone can help me.
Last week i got a triggerfish which i have been keeping a close eye on. He settled into the tank fine. He was eating a getting on well with my other fish.
The problem is i have not seen him for a few days. I know they like to wedge themselves under rocks and things but he`s not coming out to feed.
Do they mainly feed at night or is he stressed and just hiding away?

Many Thanks

I would be worried if he was out and now has gone into hiding. Generally trigs start out hiding and then become more brave. What other fish do you have in the tank? What size, etc? I would guess he is probably stressed but you will need to figure out by what and try and get him to come out and get food. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck!

I think you should be worried too. I had a damsel that always hid from me in the caves I made for him. Then he didn't come out to eat for a couple days. I didn't worry because I had put him in a new tank and I new he was territorial and would need to adjust. Long story short I found him this morning on the bottom of the tank... Not sure what happened, It's possible I didn't take enough time and care in acclimating him. Regardless of what happend I think it would be a good idea to check on him... If he's stressed for some reason maybe you can save him from shock...

Best of luck

Thanks for the posts. Unfortunately, i just moved all my live rock and found him dead at the back. :(
Dont know what caused this as he seemed to settle into the tank very well. He was feeding well and was definatley not been harrassed by any of my other fish (regal tang and powder blue). If anything, i was worried about him attacking the others. Oh well. Maybe he just didnt handle the change of environment.

Thanks anyway
