trimming crypts

Better to "thin & sell" the excess - divide at the base, teasing roots apart, sell excess plants. Smaller plants will form at the periphery of the main clump.

If you do trim (I wouldn't), cut leaves off at the base of the clump, being careful not to take all leaves from a given plant.

Hmmm...unfortunately this thing was placed towards the front of the tank, without my knowledge as to how tall it would grow, so I would rather cut down on height if at all possible. I have some of the smaller plants alreay growing towards the bottom and I would so I want those to grow more rather than being overshadowed by the larger part of the plant...I will try dividing the roots before trimming and see what happens.

I haven't had very good success replanting crypts. A few smaller ones were moved towards the back and haven't really grown so much. I'll try it, problem is that I added some new plants recently so there really isn't a whole lot of room in the back anyways...I am also saving space for cambomba trimmings...
