Trimming Swords

Somehow (not sure if a fish got it or what) one of the leaves became detached from its stem. I plucked the leave, should I

A) cut the stem near the root
B) cut the stem near the break (it's brownish there)
C) not do anything

Just be sure not to damage the crown. The stem will just continue to brown, die, and foul up the water if you leave it.

i take a sharp set of shears and cut it as close to the crown as possible.

and when you get good and the plant s big enough, you can cut the crown in 2 and propagate that way too. i once had a real buster that i made into 4 plants.
