You are futher south than I realised...in Yellowknife, at midsummer, sunrise and sunset are 20 hours apart, and thanks to twilight, it never gets properly dark. Note to BlackwolfXKV...you need to be up around Tuktoyaktuk, Canada at midsummer to see the sun never set and at midwinter to see it never rise.

and tortis, i'm sure someone as educated as you (i'm not being sarcastic!) knows that alaska is a HUGE stae and has some very varied climactic conditions, and that places like Juneau and Ketchikan are no worse weather wise then Vancouver or victoria, and that only 30% of alaska is above the arctic circle, and even then, only about 25% is tundra.
