trumpet snails do they have babies above or below the water?

Ha! I told you you would soon have more! :grinyes: Glad they're happy in your tank. I caught my 4-year-old feeding the tank last night, so I may have figured out where my population explosion a couple weeks ago came from.

:grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: yep you were right, you sold me some awsome breeders :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: I was amazed to see so many this morning . thats so hilarious!!!

put some "quick cure" or "had a snail" in the tank, goodby snails!:wall:
The consequence will be spike of ammonia thus killing the fish themselves as well.

And any shrimp you put into the tank now or later, too.

If you don't over feed you won't have a population explosion.

Treating with salt for ich? Should not bother shrimp or snails. The "had a snail" and other copper based snail killing meds will make sure you can not keep any inverts (shrimp included) in that tank.....ever.

I was kind of shocked as I just got them a few weeks ago, now there is an explosion of them LOL! not worried, I can vacume out what I do not want. but I never saw any clutches. any ways do I have to squish them to feed to my fish? ewwwww what is I just drop them in,?[/QUOTE

glf:

I have not read each post in this thread but if you do indeed have have Malaysian Live Bearers [MLB] (your term is Trumpet Snails) please consider yourself fortunate.

If these are indeed MLBs then when you turn your lights on you should be able to observe many but after a few hours you will observe few if none.

These "little devils" will get into the substrate and clean up the mess.

You can overfeed and they will clean up the mess.

You can over-fertilize or over-light and they will clean up the algae.
