Was anyone else duped by the fanciful artwork in the old Sea Monkey ads from comic books? I really thought they would look that and was sorely disappointed when they turned out to be brine shrimp. I remember seeing thse ads in the early '70s

There is a little disclaimer there, but my juvenile missed it.

Yeah, I got them, only two hatched, and yes I was sorely disappointed. "They don't cavort and do tricks and stunts! They just swim around in circles! What a gyp."
 
Actually the form of the adult sea monkeys did look like them in the AD..

Well maybe only to me :S.

I really like the fold out box with the plastic liner .. it looked like a tiny cardboard aquarium.. I hatched out a bunch of them but the food supply didn't last long and my room got hot in the summer..= not good for the sea monkeys.
 
I had a sea monkey kit when I was little that came in a little clear plastic thingy with built in magnifying glasses. Those things were awesome and mine got huge =3

I was easily amused =[
