I'm looking to sell some plants that I do not have room for any more (Crypts) but I am not well versed on shipping...so I have some questions...

1) Should I use USPS?

2) Do most people just do a priority flate rate?

3) Envelope or small box?

I use USPS, I always use a box as envelopes are sorted differently and can get squished. I don't use flat rate as any box within the size constaints is the same price to ship, $4.90 or something like that. Flat rate small box is really tiny and dthe same price, the next size up is nearly double the price. Up to 1lb is the roughtly $5 anywhere in the country.

I ship USPS priority. Most of the packages I send are in the free 7 X 6 X 6" box. The actual shipping charges vary by weight starting, as MsJ said, at about $5. The flat rate boxes are good if you have small things that weigh alot, but other than that, going by weight will cost less. When you figure your shipping charge, figure the shipping, your paypal fee you have to pay, and bags/insulation. All of this costs you money and should affect either the cost of the plants or shipping.

Not just flat rate, all priority boxes are free. I recommend getting the delivery confirmation for absolutely everything you send. It saves some hassle, especially if you need an easy way to prove you really did send something.
